“With Grace” holds two meanings. Firstly, it depicts the grace and beauty of the orchids themselves, with their delicate blooms and graceful arching stems. Secondly, it describes the special connection we sometimes have with the spirit world, in this case, the artist’s grandmother, Grace Partridge, an artist who was an important inspiration to Margret as a young girl. The butterfly symbolizes the visiting spirit, and, if you look closely you can see the reflected image of Grace in the glass vessel.
